She stepped to the water's edge, dismal in her approach. The water was so cool, so clear, so unlike herself, who had grown accustomed to hiding her feelings so that they made her like smoke, hard to see through, something you choke on if you stay around too long. But as she barely touched the water's surface, that molten glass, so smooth, so inviting, she found herself refreshed, renewed...purified.... and her clothes--and her very heart-- became as white as snow, as clear as diamonds, as pure as the water beneath her feet...

Now that I think of it, this is a sort of personal piece.
I've grown so used to keeping my thoughts and feelings inside so I won't hurt anyone or make someone angry that I'm really not open to anyone. I keep my thoughts and feelings to myself. But just over the past year or so, I've become more open, despite the risk of hurting someone or making them angry. If I feel something needs to be done or said, I express that feeling or thought.
The purifying element in MY story, however, is Derek, not some magical spring...though the spring would have been easier, I'm sure. XD
I'm not about to go into alot of details about this trail between Derek and I, but I'll say this, it hasn't been easy on either of us, but I'm learning to open up little by little.
